What Losing 180 Pounds Really Does to Your Body

How to organize your argumentative essay:
1. Your first draft should be at least 2 full pages long and include a title, an introduction that grabs readers’ attention, a thesis statement, and at least 2 body paragraphs.
2. The introduction should create context for readers, explain what the controversy is, and/or briefly summarize the essay you are responding to. It should be at least ½ page long.
3. The introduction should end with a thesis statement that has a main claim, and 3 supporting reasons:
4. The first body paragraph should deal with the first supporting reason. The second body paragraph with the second supporting reason, and the third paragraph with the third supporting reason.
5. Address the counter argument. Acknowledging that there is another point of view is key to any argument. You can address the counter argument in every paragraph or in a separate paragraph located after your supporting reasons, and before your rebuttal and the conclusion.
6. Your conclusion should wrap up your essay but should not be a repetition of the introduction.

Artificial Selection of chickens: Behavioral effects of Artificial Selection on a Given Species

The topic of my paper is The Genetic or Behavioral effects of Artificial Selection on a Given Species. The subtopic is Artificial Selection of Chickens.
Artificial selection is done all over the world in breeding chickens. They breed broiler chickens to be bigger, hens to lay more and larger eggs, and chickens without feathers to be easier to clean when slaughtering. This practice has advantages and disadvantages for the chickens. The advantages are that the chickens are bigger and fatter, they lay more and larger eggs and that they don’t have to be plucked when slaughtered. The disadvantages are that the chickens are getting too fat and get to where they can barely move, the chickens are laying too many eggs and this makes their bones brittle from the calcium it takes to lay the eggs. The main disadvantage is the chickens that they breed to be featherless. These chickens are hard to keep alive and they suffer the most from not having any protection over their skin.

Why Prostitution should be legalized in the United States

The Action Essay should ultimately propose a recommended course of action that would solve the problem you discussed in the analysis. The essay also needs to provide context and support for your argument, demonstrating sophisticated understanding of how different textual strategies work together to make an academic audience receptive to the ideas intended by you as an author.

In creating this Action Essay, you will need to think carefully about the audience and purpose for the essay, considering what proofs and premises an audience is likely to find appealing as well as what kinds of alternative courses of action or definitions of the problem the audience might be inclined to consider.

That is, I will be looking for the strategies and principles we’ve learned to be not only used but catered to your audience, purpose, and context. For example, if your audience is a Republican with biased, right-wing views, you probably won’t use testimony from a Democrat. If your audience is Tina Turner, you might use a musical example rather than a historical example about George Washington.

I will be looking for the use of logos, testimony, data, and I will look for you to frame issues in ways that preserve stasis. That is, you should frame your arguments in terms of the prevailing counterargument so that you and your opponent are clearly arguing about the same thing.

Basically, in the invention I’m asking you to discuss a problem and argue for a solution. If you want an example, you can see the “Sample Invention” posted on BB. If you need help developing your argument (writing a full five pages), think about the appeals that you used for each paragraph in PG#2 and #3. Here are PG #3’s appeals: consistency, justice, practicability, expediency. Here are PG #2’s: definition, conjecture, quality, policy. If you are not sure how to “appeal” to these principles, please ask me.

Technical stuff:
-You need to use at least 3 outside sources, and these sources must be different kinds of sources (for example, you could use a book, an article, and a Web site). These sources must be cited in-text parenthetically and must appear on the works cited page. If you have questions about this, see me.
-Please label the Invention and Reflection. The works cited page will have its own page and will go immediately after the Invention. The Reflection will go at the end, after the works cited page.

It is not a plot summary. I attached the exact instructions my professor wants. She also states it is necessary to do some citing from our textbook. That book is “Exploring Lifespan Development” 2nd edition by Laura Berk. Just follow directions attached.
